  • CWCI Senior Vice-President of Claims and General Counsel Sara Widener-Brightwell and Chief Operating Officer Gideon Baum, who will review issues affecting workers’ compensation that are likely to be addressed in the courts and by state lawmakers in the year ahead.

  • A panel discussion that will explore how cultural, political, and economic differences have influenced workers’ compensation outcomes in California and across the nation.  Alex Swedlow will be joined by Ramona Tanabe, President and CEO of the Workers Compensation Research Institute, and Eric McGhee, Senior Fellow at the Public Policy Institute of California, who will offer their insights into how the California workers’ compensation system compares to other jurisdictions, the factors that have led to significant reforms to the California system over the past six decades, and current dynamics that could reshape the future role of workers’ compensation.
